

Geneva Kegley, 85, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 6, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born November 8, 1925 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Garlie and Sarah Alice (Hicks) Adkins and was a graduate of Olive Hill High School. Geneva retired from Taylor Metal Products and then worked at Phar-Mor Drug Store. Possessing a strong faith in the Lord, she was a member of Hillside First Church of God and also attended the Church of God. Spoiling children was a favorite pastime and she enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends greatly. Geneva was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and followed her children and grandchildren’s sports activities with great pride and enthusiasm. God, family and church, were the mainstays of her life.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Kegley of Mansfield; daughter, Robyn (Tim) Lewis of Mansfield; grandchildren, Tina Grau, Shannon (Aaron) Lesher and Ryan Combs; great-grandsons, Tanner and Grady Lesher; sister, Violet Sloan of Morehead, KY; two sisters-in-law, Esther Adkins and Wanda Kegley; a brother-in-law, Madison Sweeney; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of wonderful friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah C. Kegley in 1993; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Kegley; sister, Hazel Sweeney; brother, Garl Lee Adkins; two infant sisters; and one infant brother.
Friends and family may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Pastor Glenn Phillips, Pastor Michael Rogers and nephew, Lee Mike. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
