
George Junior James, 64, of Mansfield died late Wednesday evening, July 3, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. James was born June 9, 1938, in Grahn, Kentucky to the late, George W. and Ida Gilliam James. He was employed for 43 years as a landscaper with Bellwood Nursery, working part-time recently. He was a member of Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling and fishing. George was very loved by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marie Adkins James; three sons and their spouses, David James of Mansfield, Darrin and Mary James of Greenwich, Ohio, and Sean and Janet James of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and Fred Forwith of Galion, Ohio and Glenna James of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Jason Forwith, Erik Forwith and Amber James of Galion, Yashica James, Michael James, and Brandon James of Mansfield, and Jessica James of Greenwich; one great-grandchild, Traviaso Osorio-James of Mansfield; five step-grandchildren, Dana Jones of Wharton, West Virginia and Anna Stamper of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Robert Lauer, Daniel Murray, and Sara Sexton, all of Greenwich; two sisters, Pauline Carroll and Peg McGlone of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two brothers, John James and Earsel James of Lexington; two very dear in-laws and their spouses, Jim and Patty Adkins of Mansfield and Sandy and Tim Prosser of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, George James II; granddaughters, Natasha James and Angela James; three sisters, Bernice Conn, Hazel Rodgers, and Faye Carroll; and his first wife, Phyllis Hilderbrand James.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Saturday, July 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, July 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be observed Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley.
