

Georgene Barbara Selman, 72, of 1365 Mary Court, Mansfield, died peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2004. She was born November 15, 1931, in Mansfield to the late George 'Ike' and Lena Fetter and was an area resident her entire life. Georgene worked at M. O'Neil's Company until 1972 as Men's department manager. She also helped manage the Wagon Wheel before her declining health. She was a member of the Ohio Licensed Beverage Association. Georgene loved people and people loved her. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Georgene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years, caregiver and soul mate, Hysen N. Selman; an aunt, Evelyn B. Hoffman of Mansfield; cousins, John Zgela of Mansfield, Tom and Char Zgela of Deshler, Ohio, Jim and Hazel Kittelberger of Mansfield, Kathy and Larry Wade and Sondra and Fred Krader, all of Murray, Kentucky; special niece, Pam Adams Eckenrode of Galion; nephew, John 'Bud' Adams of Mansfield; and niece, Pat Caffee of Greer, South Carolina. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Patricia Smith Roberts and her husband Paul of Alexander, Virginia, whom after searching for her father for 32 years, finally located Georgene and Hysen two years ago. The short time they had to spend with Georgene will never be forgotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Fetter and the love of her life, son, James Michael 'Jimo' Adams.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, September 2 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Kidney Center.
