Georgia Marie Stadler, age 83, of Sagamore Hills, passed peacefully on April 5, 2025, while under the compassionate care of The Inn at Ashland Woods and Gentiva Hospice. Born on February 22, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, Georgia lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her students, and her community.
A passionate educator, Georgia devoted her career to inspiring young minds. Her journey in education began at Cassedy Elementary and spanned over 24 years at Watkins Memorial, where she made a profound impact on generations of students. She earned a master’s degree in education and spent countless hours researching teaching strategies, always striving to be the best for her students. Beyond the classroom, Georgia was known for building lasting relationships with those she taught, whether through extracurricular activities, academic competitions, or cheering from the sidelines at sporting events. She was more than a teacher; she was a mentor, a friend, and a guide for all those who crossed her path.
Georgia was also an avid gardener, with her beautifully landscaped yard serving as a reflection of her meticulous nature and love for nurturing life. Her gardening was not only a hobby but a passion she shared with her beloved furry companions. When not tending to her garden, Georgia enjoyed seeking out a good deal, often spending hours at various stores hunting for the perfect bargain.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erin Stadler; husband, Ralph Stadler; parents, Peter and Dolores Hatlovic; and grandson, Ethan Stadler. Georgia is survived by her son, Eric (LeAnne) Stadler; grandchildren, Ellyssa, Evan, Eleah, Easton, and Eliza Stadler; sister, Jan (Scott) Royer; brother, Douglas (Amy) Hatlovic; as well as nieces, nephews, and their families.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am in Glen Rest Memorial Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. A reception will follow immediately at Hosanna House Event Center, 7618 Hazelton-Etna Rd SW, Pataskala, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Georgia’s grandson, Capt. Ethan Stadler, to the Ethan Stadler Scholarship Fund for firefighter and EMS education. Donations can be made at www.ashlandforgood.org, selecting the Ethan Stadler fund.
