

Gwendolyn Ruth Rhodes, 59, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 03, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born January 26, 1954 in Immokalee, Florida, she was the daughter of Charles Benjamin Hadley, II and Vera Ruth (Williams) Hadley. A homemaker, she always put her family before herself and was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She was known by all who knew her as a beautiful person. She loved electronics of all kinds and was known for making the best sweet tea.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years of marriage, Clifford Ray Rhodes; her children, Christopher Ray (Crystal) Rhodes of Mansfield, Benjamin Joshua (Samantha) Rhodes of Wellington, William Rhodes and his fiancée, Michelle Burriss of Mansfield and Angelea Ruth (Timothy) McCombs of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Logan Christopher Rhodes, Autumn Constance Rhodes, Chloe Sydney Rhodes and Garrett Matthew Rhodes; a sister, Delila Michelle Hadley Foerman; her father-in-law, Nathaniel Rhodes, Sr.; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Benjamin Hadley, III.
A memorial service will be held at Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 29 West St., Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
