

Hans "Rudi" Bachmann, 87, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born April 19, 1928 in Schoenenberg, Switzerland, he was the son of Theodore and Bertha (Hohn) Bachmann. Rudi retired from General Motors as a floor supervisor, was a horseman who owned and trained pacers and trotters, and was a farmer who raised various livestock. A loving family man, Rudi was also an avid golfer and card player.
He is survived by his son, Hans Bachmann, Jr. of Washington, DC; daughter, Susan (Dan) Bachmann Matthews of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Ross (Kristi) Matthews of Rockwall, TX and Dylan Matthews of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Carson and Jack Matthews; loving companion and her family, Janet Witchey of Mansfield; sister, Alice Lattman of Switzerland; brother, Peter (Irene) Bachmann of Switzerland; nephews, Ernie (Nancy) Selig of Bellingham, WA and Victor (Leslie) Selig of Cleveland; and niece, Linda (Mark) Weaver of Wooster.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eulalia "Ella" Selig Bachmann and brother, Theodore Bachmann.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, conducted by Pastor Paul Young. Friends may call prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Park at a later date.
