
Harold E. Huber, 84, of Mansfield died Tuesday evening, October 31, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. Mr. Huber was born September 9, 1916 in Ada, Ohio living in the Mansfield area since 1947. He was owner/operator of Huber Furniture. Mr. Huber also managed the furniture department of Sears. He had been director of Mastersingers for nine years and a member of the Exchange Club. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed gardening and antiquing. Mr. Huber was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Purdy Huber; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Debbie Huber of Tampa, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon & Tom Leslie of Avon, Ohio; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepchildren, Marlene & Paul Culler of Tequesta, Florida, Robert C. & Jeannette McCready of Orlando, Florida, Richard G. & Marilyn McCready of Mansfield, and Thomas O. & Marsha McCready of Dublin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl C. & Sarah Niswander Huber; and one brother, Evan.
Private funeral services will be held at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Dr. Roger Smith with military honors at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Junior Baseball/Southwest Little League, 471 Davey Ave., Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
