

Harold E. Vesper, 77, of Mifflin died early Wednesday morning, November 6, 2002 at Kingston of Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Services following an extended illness. Mr. Vesper was born June 1, 1925 in Ashland County and was a life-long area resident. He retired from Tappan Company after 41 years of service, where he was a tool and die maker. Harold was one of the original members of the Mifflin Village Volunteer Fire Department. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty E. Harden Vesper; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lisa Vesper of Mifflin, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Riddle of Mifflin; five grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon Riddle of Dayton, Ohio, Jason and Leslie Riddle of Kettering, Ohio, Dawn and Jeff Lewis of Mifflin, David and Jessie Vesper of Ashland, and Amanda Vesper of Mifflin; three great-grandchildren, Katelin Riddle of Marion, Ohio, Andrew Vesper and Madisyn Lewis, both of Mifflin; and his special pet, Doxie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Grace Rohleder Vesper and a brother, Edgar.
Services and burial will be held at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin Village Volunteer Fire Department.
