

Harper Krupp, 93, of Mansfield, died Sunday evening, April 14, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born October 27, 1919 in Belle Center, Ohio to the late Joseph and Ruth (Kline) Krupp. He moved to Tiffin and attended Tiffin Columbian Schools before moving to Mansfield in 1938. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1939.
Harper married Elaine Crall on June 27, 1947 and they raised four children in the Shelby area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving in the European Theatre during WWII, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Harper was a model maker at Tappan Company, retiring in 1982 after 42 years of service. He was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church.
Harper was a stranger to no one. His passion was raising ponies and showing them at horse and pony shows for many years. He was a member of the Lake Erie Pony Club, Mid-Ohio Pony Club-serving as President for many years, American Shetland Pony Club, and POA-Pony of the America's Club. He was inducted into the National Pony of America Club, Hall of Fame in Indianapolis in 1992. He volunteered his time as Superintendent of the Pony Shows at the Richland County Fair for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elaine Crall Krupp; son, Chuck (Cindy) Krupp of Peoria, AZ; three daughters, Pat (David) Will of Ashland, Pam (Mark) Studer of Shelby, Peggy (Don) Brown of Spring, TX; eleven grandchildren, Cara (Kris) Vickery, Craig Mazza, Andy (Tonia) Studer, Brian (Anne) Studer, Tiffany (Jason) McCoy, Charlie Krupp, Dorothy Krupp, Melissa (Ron) Proctor, Matt Brown, Heather (Stephen) Reeves and Michael (Christin) Will; nine great-grandchildren, Sydney Vickery, Chase and Piper Studer, Lacey and Raegan McCoy, Madeline and Aaron Proctor, Grant Will and Morgan Kennel; a sister, Helen Kurbad; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenny K. Krupp and sister, Virginia Swanger.
Friends and family may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Sondra Snode will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Ontario United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to Ontario United Methodist Church.
