
Harvey "Bud" Chester Greer, 87, of Loudonville, died Friday, June 05, 2009 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born July 2, 1921, in Butler, he was the son of Carl and Dollie Greer. He was WWII Army veteran where he was a part of the military police in Europe and Africa, earning the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five bronze stars. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3494 and a member of the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed training dogs and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Kenneth Keller of Bellville, grandchildren, Jeffery Julie Keller of Columbus, and Sara Tom Murphy of Lucas; great grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Kylie, Megan, and Joshua; brothers-in-law, Donald Niswander, Jerry Pat Niswander, and Darrell Nancy Niswander; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Evelyn Greer; sister, Ada Hamblin; and brother, J.C. Greer.
Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Mansfield Memorial Park with Pastor David Aune officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW or American Legion. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Harvey Greer.
