
Hazel E. Charles, 83, passed away Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010 at Crestwood Care Center. Born February 21, 1927, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lucille Hellinger and Charles James. Hazel was employed with Hostetler Catering for 20 years, managed the cafeteria at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. and was a demonstrator for Sam's Club. She enjoyed bowling and completing puzzles. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her family. Hazel was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #9943 on Ashland Road.
She is survived by three children, Charles Barb Bland of Columbia, SC, William Barb Bland of Shelby and Patricia Bobby Turner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Jean Loveland of Mansfield and Doris Lowe of OR; two brothers, John Pickleseimer of TX and Fred James of CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Charles in 1986; daughter, Norma; and her parents.
Friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Christopher R. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
