Hazel Grant

Hazel A. Buchanan Grant, 89, of 204 Malone Road died Sunday, September 22, 2002 at her home after a short illness. Mrs. Grant was born November 20, 1912 in Logan, West Virginia to Thomas and Brooke Harless Buchanan. She was married to the late Carl Grant, a retired General Motors employee and had lived in Mansfield since 1957 coming from Michigan, working as a homemaker. Hazel was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Nada Brock of Mansfield; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Jr. and Carla Grant of Ashland; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Grant, Sr.; two daughters, Pauline Burgess and Janice Brock; four sisters, Cardie, Faye, Garnet and Viva; three brothers, Lee, George and Miller; and her parents.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, September 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and one hour prior to funeral services which will be at the funeral home Thursday at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Terry Browning. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
