Heather Dawn Newsome Blackwood, 47, of Sparta,Tennessee, was born January 27 1969 in Pikeville, Kentucky and went to see her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2016. Heather was baptized in Beaufort, South Carolina in 2008 and was of a strong Baptist faith and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
Heather graduated from Crestview High School in 1987 and was a hard worker, a devoted mother to her two amazing children and a friend to many people from around the country. She had an amazing sense of humor and infectious laugh that was enjoyed by all who heard it.
She loved cheering loudly and vigorously for Jeff Gordon, her Kentucky Wildcats and The Ohio State Buckeyes and wasn’t ashamed of her affiliation for any of them.
Heather could always be counted on for her listening ear, kindness and generosity to others and she was never afraid to say “I’m sorry”. Her character, love and understanding will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The world has lost a wonderful person and I hope when you read this, that you will pray for the family she has left behind.
Heather was preceded in death by her father, Marlin Newsome of Savannah, Ohio and loved ones in Pikeville, Kentucky who welcomed her into the gates of Heaven.
