

Helen L. Cottrell Bentley Fannin, 88, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends. Born July 13, 1926 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James and Stella M. (Rose) Morris.
Helen came to Mansfield early in life and worked at various places until she married. She became a stay at home mother raising her two children. Being a life long Christian she made sure her children knew the Lord by taking them to Sunday School and Church. When her children started school, Helen studied and became a Licensed Real Estate Professional. She sold real estate for Mike Raeck Realty and later for Floyd T. Davis Realty. Helen loved meeting and talking to people, so she enjoyed her profession immensely.
Later in life, her and her husband enjoyed traveling to many places throughout the United States. They started wintering in Arizona and eventually wintered in Sebring and Avon Park, Florida. Helen and her husband also loved to walleye fish up on Lake Erie and she was proud of having caught a Fish Ohio walleye at 29.5 inches.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Ron) Willis of Galion; a son, Gary Cottrell and his friend, Char of Lucas; four grandchildren, Greg Orewiler, Chad Orewiler, Jennifer Cottrell and Shannon (Adam) Gongwer; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandy Lunsford and Linda Herdon; and four brothers, Junior, Olen, Sheldond and Frank Morris.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruby Carroll, Clotine Morgan, Darlene Haggard, Avonell Addison and Mary Bond; and one brother, Conroy Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Robert Kurtz. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., on Friday.
