
Herbert Henderson, 77, of Galion, died early Wednesday morning, November 25, 2009, at his home. Born January 28, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, he was the son of Ulyses Allan and Rebecca Hall Henderson. Herb was formerly employed as a supervisor at General Motors. He was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church. In his spare time, Herb enjoyed woodworking, computers and during his younger years, hunting. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy. He was a very loving and giving man.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Naomi Carroll Henderson; two sons, Gilbert Susie Friday of Mansfield and John R. Lori Henderson of Dayton; two stepsons, Clifford "Michael" Qualls of Big Spring, TX and Charles Cinde Qualls of Galion; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Kevin Conrad of Iberia and Kathy Qualls of La Porte, TX; three grandchildren, Ashley Henderson, Adam, Ben, and Abbie Friday and Kellie Henderson; eight step grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, including two special great grandsons, Daniel O'Neal and Jacob Conrad; two sisters, Linda Mona Butler of Union and Cledith Albert McCleese of Olive Hill, KY; two brothers, Fred Tressie Henderson of Shelby and Ernest Ruth Henderson of Phoenix, AZ; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Thomas M. Henderson; stepson, James A. Qualls; a sister, Thelma May Rice; and three brothers, Artist, Willie Allen and Ollie Avery Henderson.
Friends may visit from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County.
