Herman Clifton

Herman L. Clifton, 72, of Mansfield, died early Tuesday morning, September 25, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born July 31, 1935 in Grayson, Kentucky, he was the son of Frank and Grace Zornes Clifton. Herman enjoyed gardening, farming, and driving his tractors. He was formerly employed as the Maintenance Supervisor with Citation Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Reatha Swanger Clifton; two sons, Roy Regina Clifton and Jeff Karen Clifton, all of Mansfield; three daughters, Tina Randy Heinberger of Bellville, Cathy Charles Garman of Elwood, IN and Joyce Smith of Calabash, NC; fifteen grandchildren, Vince Heinberger, Destiny Heinberger, Kristi Lee, Lori Wurth, Missy Garman, Russell Thompson, Jake Hergatt, Josh Hergatt, Matt Clifton, Kyle Clifton, Cody Clifton, Jarrod Clifton, Dale Smith, Neil Smith and Sammy Smith; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Farris Ramona Clifton of Bardstown, KY and James Loretta Clifton of Grayson, KY; and a sister, Frances Carl Spaulding of Grayson, KY. His parents, two sisters, Madeline McGlone and Blanch Zornes and a brother, Roy Clifton, all preceded him in death.

Friends may call Thursday, September 27 from 5-9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Kistler of New Life Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
