Jacquelin M. McFarland

Jacquelin M. McFarland, 86, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at The Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 31, 1932 in Bucyrus, she was the daughter of James and Pauline (Ometer) Haspeslagh.

Jacquelin was a 1950 graduate of Shelby High School. Following graduation, she married and started a family. She was a Cub Scout and 4-H Leader for many years as her children were growing up. Along with her husband, Kenneth and their son, Bruce they owned and operated B&M Parts and Service. Jacquelin loved keeping busy and had worked the polls at election time for Richland County and was a member of the Garden Club and Quilt Club. She was also an EMT and a member of the Franklin Township Fire Auxiliary. She was a member of Clay Memorial Lutheran Church where she was very active and served as the secretary for the church. Later on in life, she worked for Union Elementary Schools. Jacquelin collected salt and pepper shakers and Santa Clauses and truly enjoyed the Christmas season.

She is survived by two children, Kenneth (Ruth) McFarland, Jr. and Elizabeth (McFarland) Priess; four grandchildren, Jessica (Cory) Hanlon, Stephen (Larissa) McFarland, Allison (Jonathan) Finney and Rachel (Michael Mutchler) Priess; five great grandchildren, Jenna and Nicholas Hanlon, Damon, Kara and Jameson Finney; a sister, Karen Quinn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McFarland; two children, Bruce McFarland and Jaline Shifflet; and two siblings, Donna Walter and James Haspeslagh.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Clay Memorial Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Carol Kilgore. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, Clay Memorial Lutheran Church or Franklin Township Fire Department.
