James Seymour

James D. Seymour, age 84, formerly of Sherbrook Rd., died January 31, 2000 after a brief illness.  Mr. Seymour was born January 7, 1916 in Mansfield, Ohio and has been a lifelong resident.  He was past president and Board member  of  Martin Hardware where he retired after 51 years of service.  He was a member of Mayflower United Church of Christ. Mr. Seymour was a past member of Rotary Club, past president of Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the School Bond Issue in 1954, past president of the Retail Merchants Associates, Steering Committee and Board Member of Richland County Crippled Children's Society.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law; James T. and Sheryl Seymour of Mansfield, a grandson; Dylan J. Seymour.  Preceded in death are his wife of 56 years; Jessie V. Thomas, a daughter; Mary Jay Seymour, two brothers; Richard and Robert Seymour, a sister; Ruth Harter.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. service on Wednesday, February 2, 2000 conducted by Rev. Gary Wilson. Burial will be at Mansfield Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Mayflower United Church of Christ.
