
Jay D Tucker, 82, of 1049 Springmill Road died Monday evening, July 2, 2001 at SCCI Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Tucker was born October 16, 1918 in Richland County, Ohio living in the Mansfield area all of his life. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves after 30 years. Mr. Tucker was a charter member of Berean Baptist Church where he was instrumental in the naming of the church. He was a graduate of Ashland College. Mr. Tucker was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Eldora May Dove Tucker of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. & Mrs. Jay Dean & Sally Tucker of Roswell, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Larry D. & Joy M. Pugh of Bellville and Mr. & Mrs. Douglas J. & Janice M. Jarvis of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Jon and Annie Tucker and Justin Pugh; seven stepgrandchildren, Brad and Robin Pugh, Greg and Jodie Pugh, Jason and Mary Malina, and Evan Jarvis; seven step great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Rev. & Mrs. Robert & Alice St. John of Tacoma, Washington; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. James & Rachel Tucker of Nova, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fremont Z. & Grace M. Searl Tucker; a brother, George D. Tucker; and a sister, Hattie A. Tucker Vedda.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David J.
