Jayo Mabry

Jayo 'Jay' Mabry, 72, of Mansfield, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born March 21, 1938 in Elliott County, Kentucky, he was the son of Cletis and Tennie Goodan Mabry. Jay was formerly employed at Mansfield Asphalt and Mansfield Flooring. A simple man, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jay loved children and was a very compassionate person who shared his wonderful spirit with everyone around him.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Dreama Mabry and Jeff Mabry of Mansfield; daughter, Sheila Greg Krautlarger of Mansfield; grandchildren, Justin Krautlarger, Alexa, Seth and McKayla Mabry; brothers and sisters, Betty Turner of Lexington, KY, June Dempsy McDaniel of Alexville, KY, Toby George McDonnel of TN, Rose Darrell Bender and Gene Mabry, both of Mansfield; his best friend and companion, Velma 'Bodie' Seitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sisters, Gay Newman, Richard Mabry and Garlene Kiser.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield, with Brother Joseph Bathe of Church of God of Prophecy officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
