

She was a 1959 graduate of Mansfield Senior High. It would cause a rivalry with her 4 daughters that attended Madison. Mom would walk away with a smile knowing she went to the best school.
Jean would marry a handsome sailor named Jay Becker and they would have four daughters, Karen, Judy, Kathy, and Lori. This year, they celebrated 55 years together.
Jean loved NASCAR, the Buckeyes, and the Browns. She was an avid book reader and loved her Kindle. Mom was a leader for her daughters in Brownies, Girl Scouts, 4-H and was room mother for all the kids.
She also loved to cook and was featured in the newspaper in the Cook's Corner with her picture and her recipes. The youth at the Westwood Alliance Church dedicated a cookbook in her honor, it included many of her recipes.
She attended Westwood Alliance Church and previously attended Linden Road Presbyterian Church, where she served as Church Treasurer and was the Wednesday night cook for Logos Youth Group.
Memories are God's gift from Heaven above, Mom is dancing and singing with much love. We were blessed to call her Sister, Wife, Mom, Aunt, and Grandma. She was an amazing person who dedicated her life to her family. Thank you God for giving her to us!
Surviving are her husband, Jay Becker, whom she married April 23, 1960; daughters, Karen (Bryan) Flowers of Columbus, Judy (David) Hedrick of Mansfield, Kathy Bowen of Mansfield, and Lori (Mark) Furtak of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Kathleen and Sgt. Jacob Flowers, Mark (Beth), Chad (Forever), and Kyle (Maria) Hedrick, Casey and Emily Bowen, and Erin Furtak; great-grandchildren, Dylan Weekley and Madelyn Hedrick and two others on the way; brother, Joseph (Marge) Russ of Westerville; sister in law, Susan(Phillip) Holmes, Sharpsburg, GA; and numerous nieces and a nephew.
Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Keith Bowen.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Doyle Peyton. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nurturing Hearts Home Health Care, 1 Marion Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44903 or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805.
