
Jean E. Ernsberger Bishop Wiles, 80, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born June 22, 1929, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Roy and Marie German Ernsberger. She retired from Wagner Hardware and was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church where she was involved in numerous church committees. Jean loved her animals ~ Teddy, Oscar and Smokey ~ and enjoyed swimming and eating out at new restaurants. She was a sports fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers, but she most enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play in sporting events.
Surviving are four children, Karen William Foor of Mansfield, Charlot Gleisinger of Lucas, Dawn Mike Scott of Mansfield and Russell Barb Bishop of Mansfield; three step daughters, Vivian Mike Kitts Wilson of Mansfield, Cassandra Phillip Baker of Perrysville and Carla Ryan Weber of Mansfield; two step sons, Larry Deb Wiles of Mansfield and Michael Mary Carlise; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; one brother, Lamar Ernsberger of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 35 years, John H. Wiles; two sisters, Catherine A. Ernsberger and Evelyn Cunningham; and a great granddaughter, Lindsay Klein.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Mike Wilson with additional calling hours from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Baptist Church or the STOP Organization.
