
Jeffrey Allen Davis, 46, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 13, 2011 after a long illness. Born November 30, 1964 in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of Lloyd R. and Judith Haun Davis. He was a 1983 graduate of Ontario High School and a 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. A Star Trek Trekkie, where he was the Commanding Officer of the USS Indiana and was instrumental in starting a Space Camp for kids. Jeffrey also worked on stories, manuals and the designing of star ships. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and was a Buckeye fan through and through.
He is survived by his mother, Judith A. Davis of Lexington; three sons, Logan N., Jonathan W., and Jasen C. Davis all of Louisville, Kentucky; aunts and uncles, Walter L. and Teresa Haun of Hayesville, OH, Glenna M. and Paul Hoffman of Mt. Gilead, OH and Gerald Wells of Shelby, OH; a great aunt and uncle, Gerald and Ada Miller of Wadsworth, OH; several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd R. Davis; his paternal grandparents, George R. and Lois Baldwin Davis; his maternal grandparents, Walter S. and Gertrude Adams Haun; and an aunt, Dixie Davis Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario conducted by Pastor George Reece. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
