Jennifer “Jenny” (Morley) Phillips, age 53, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. She passed away surrounded by love, faith, and the family who meant everything to her.
Jenny was known for her ever-present smile, warm hearts, and joyful spirit. After graduating from Madison High School and The Ohio State University, Jenny devoted many years as an early intervention specialist, where her patience, kindness, and gentle encouragement left a lasting impact on countless children and families. Her classroom reflected who she was – loving, welcoming, and full of joy. A woman of strong Christian faith, Jenny was an active member of Trinity Grace Fellowship. She lived her faith through service to others, always thinking of those around her. Even during her illness, she found joy in caring for others by preparing food and special treats for the clinical team at The James Cancer Center.
Jenny loved all things sparkly and delighted in sending handwritten cards filled with sparkly confetti – small joyful surprises meant to make others smile. That simple act perfectly captured her spirit: thoughtful, playful, and always focused on bringing light into someone else’s day.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Phillips, who lovingly cared for her every need throughout her illness; mother-in-law, Melva Phillips; sister-in-law, Lynn Doan; beloved sons and their wives, Mitch and Sarah Phillips and Nate and Lynlee Phillips. Jenny was also celebrating the upcoming birth of her first grandson, Jensen Charles. Jenny is also survived by her mother, Pat Morley; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Michele and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, John Morley; her father-in-law, Paul Phillips; and her son, John Paul Phillips.
Jenny will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church community and all whose lives she touched. To honor Jennry’s memory, the family encourages acts of kindness, gratitude and joy-perhaps a little sparkle, shared in faith and love, just as she so beautifully lived.
