Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Jerilyn Dailey, 59, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away at her home on September 2, 2022 after a long, but private battle with cancer. Jerilyn was born in Mansfield to the late Richard Yoxtheimer and Janice Carmichael Tyson on September 29, 1962.
Jerilyn was a woman that lived her life with love, compassion and kindness, impacting countless lives and touching all she met. She was passionate about being a mother and her grand babies were the light of her world. She fought bravely for more than three years, never missing a birthday or holiday no matter the circumstances.
Jerilyn had a way of making every thing and everyone feel more special. She was known for her heartfelt letters, cards and gifts and she gave freely to anyone in need. She was a unique, thoughtful, caring soul that put her all into the people and things that she loved. She was “forever beach-bound” and loved taking family vacations to Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where she would bask in the sun for hours listening to some of her favorites, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Prince. She was a hippie at heart, always choosing peace and love and accepting people for who they were. She was non-judgmental, understanding, supportive, generous, good-humored, and above all else, loving. She is, and always will be, greatly missed and her beautiful spirit will live on in her family and friends forever.
Jerilyn is survived by her children, Alex (Amber) Dailey, and Cassandra (Juan Gil) Dailey; her life partner, Alan Dailey; and her three greatest joys, Charlee Rose, Tillie Belle, and Adonis Alan. She is also survived by four siblings, Sonya (Ron) Baker, Richie (Maureen) Yoxtheimer, Dave (Gwyn) Yoxtheimer, and Vicki Yoxtheimer; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends that loved her as their own family.
In lieu of a funeral, it was her wish to have a celebration of life and love. It will be held privately and details will be given by her family in the following days. Also, in lieu of donations or flowers, the family asks that you do what Jerilyn would have wanted you to do- an act of true kindness. Please, instead, consider donating to one of her favorite local charities, The Harmony House, The Domestic Violence Shelter, or The Humane Society in honor of her memory. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
