

He worked in welder maintenance at General Motors retiring after 311/2 years. He was a veteran serving in the Marine Corps and the Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Amvets and loved to fish, loved life and people and people loved him. He also worked at Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Griffith Fliger; five children and their spouses, Jerry D. and Carla Fliger, Jr. of Mansfield, Donald Gene Griffith of Galion, Jackie and Don Elia of Mansfield, Jeff and Arlene Fliger of Mansfield and Jenny and Brent Brasseur of Mansfield; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and LaVerne Norris Sr. of Mansfield, Edith and James Henry, Sr. of Mansfield, Patricia Wagaman of Mansfield, and Judith and James Smith, Sr. of Mansfield; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jake Fliger, Sr. of Mansfield and Robert and Terri Fliger, Sr. of Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, George Fliger, Sr., Richard Fliger, David Fliger, and William Fliger, Sr.; and by one sister, Betty Henry.
Family and friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley. Burial will be in Windsor Park Cemetery where full military services will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Council.
