Joan Weiss

Joan Marceil Weiss, 77, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born January 28, 1931 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Wilmer and Arla Boyd Weiss. Joan was a 1949 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She retired in 1993 from Therm-O-Disc after 35 years of service. Joan was a member of Woodville Grace Brethren Church.

She is survived by one nephew, Gary Barbara Vanderbilt of Mansfield; four nieces, Jacque Bill Boggs of Advance, North Carolina, Janis Jim McCammon of Tucson, Arizona, Debra Joe Finn of Gahanna, and Cindy Rob McClaran of Ashland; 16 great nieces and nephews; and 17 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wanda Weiss Graham, and Juanita Weiss Miller; and brother-in-law, Albert Miller.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Pastor Virginia Pflueger of Peace Lutheran Church, Ashland. Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, Winchester Terrace Nursing Home Activity Department, or Woodville Grace Brethren Church.
