

John worked at AK Steel as a crane operator for 40 years. He was a gentle giant and his musical talent was well known. He loved playing guitar in Fat Daddy's Band and played every chance he could get. John would occasionally work as a DJ and, along the way, he made many treasured friends. He was known for being protective of his friends and family alike. John was a member of the Parma Elks Club and Moose Lodge. An extremely intelligent man, John had a particular interest in science fiction.
He is survived by his children, John Colosimo, Jr. and Holly Colosimo (Brandon Bourdeau); a step daughter, Ashley Wentz; mother, Jeanette Heaton; sister, Lucy (Sean) England; brother, James (Lori) Colosimo; special friend, Thomas Wentz; mother-in-law, Kay Gillotti; sister-in-law, Jina Gillotti; brother-in-law, Benjamin (Shelly) Gillotti; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Ann Colosimo; father, Sandy Colosimo; and grandparents, George and Estelle Tachuk.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Contributions in memory of John may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County, 3025 Park Avenue West, Ontario, OH 44906.
