John Thomas Strong Jr.

John Thomas Strong Jr., 70, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. John was born on July 30, 1947 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He is the beloved son of John and Anne (Sharp) Strong Sr.

He is survived by his children, Lora Whipple, Karen Jones, John Strong, Dave (Nichol) Strong, and Brenda Williams (Paul Russell); grandchildren, Daniel Whipple, Earl Lanham, Jennifer (Daniel) Zornes, Justin Cather, Ashley (Jason) Hughes, Michelle Strong (Zach Wolfe), William Strong, Katie Deblasis, Kelly Hamilton, Andrew Brown, Christopher Strong, Matthew Strong, Kassidy Gleckler, Dayna Poole, Bethany Strong, Kymberly Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Brad (Brittany) Russell, Chris Russell, and Jake Russell; great-grandchildren, Jairod Cather, Freyja Zornes, Austin Hughes, Jaylyn Hughes, Corvin Hughes, Peyton Taylor, Sebastian Strong, Ariella Wolfe, Braden Strong, Alexa Deblasis, Holden Deblasis, McKenna Hamilton, Pierson Hamilton, Zachary Brown, Jordan Brown, Grayson Strong, Kylie Russell, and Jayden Russell; brothers, Ron Strong, Larry Strong, Terry (Loduska) Strong; sisters, Phyllis (Bill) Westenbarger, Nancy Oldfield, Mary Dickerson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Strong; son-in-law, Matthew Williams; grandsons, Darrell Young II, and Austin Burson; and great grandsons, Tyler Young and Jenson Zornes.

The family will welcome friends from 5-8pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown, Ohio.
