Jon "Jon Boy" M. Nething

Jon "Jon Boy" M. Nething, 48, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his residence. Born May 1, 1968 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, he was the son of Robert Keith Nething and Betty K. (Schmidt) Nething-Clegg.

A 1987 graduate of Ontario High School, he was employed as a cook at Mill Creek Nursing Home which he enjoyed. He was a caring, kind, generous and outgoing man who never met a stranger. He loved being with family and following his daughter and nieces and nephews sporting events. His daughter was his whole world and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie "Sissy Bug" Nething of Mansfield; his parents, Betty and Earl Clegg of Ontario; a brother, Scott (Kim) Nething of Ontario; two sisters, Stacey (Brad) Weber of London, Ohio and Trisha Rhodebeck of Ontario; three nieces, Allison Nething, Amanda Nething and Brianna Weber; a nephew, Logan Rhodebeck; an uncle, Charles (Linda) Schmidt of Sardis, Ohio; and an aunt, Lois (Calvin) Williams of Hannibal, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Nething; and grandparents, Wilbert and Dorothy Schmidt, Robert and Vada Nething and Roy and Dorothy Clegg.

Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Nursing Home.
