Jeff was born on January 7, 1957 into the loving family of Dr. James and Joan (Dugan) Secrest of Mansfield. He graduated in 1975 from Malabar High School in Mansfield, Ohio. Jeff was a carpenter by trade, working most of his life in the construction trade and retired as a Construction Manager from a company out of Cleveland, Ohio. Jeff was an all around handyman and enjoyed working on home improvement projects. In addition to being an avid animal lover (especially his canine companions), he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University and could always find a reason to host a cookout and campfire with friends and family, as he was a self proclaimed "Grill Master".
Jeff is survived by his sons, Matthew (Amy), James (Heather), Jeffrey (Lindy) and Jon (Emily); his grandchildren, Kirra, Evan, Natalie and Alexander; his siblings, Tom and Pam (Pheneger) Secrest and Doug and Sara (Secrest) Frye; as well as several nieces and nephews;
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Recently, Jeff had reconnected with several members of his birth family (Hardymon) in which he thoroughly enjoyed meeting and was excited to reconnect with his new found extended family.
At this time, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff's name to Harmony House, 124 West 3rd Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
