Joseph S. Bryant, 84, of Mansfield, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at Woodlawn Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born August 30, 1922 in Gimlot, Kentucky, he was the son of Estel and Leona Darr Bryant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include six children, Minnie James Mullins, Billie Joe Rosie Bryant, all of Mansfield, Thomas Bryant, Vernon Linda Bryant, JoAnne Vereen and Sue Don Kinchen, all of Florida; sister, Fern Jackson of Mansfield; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stacy 'Pat' Bryant, son, Holbert Bryant, granddaughter, Cozzett Bond, parents, sisters, Coleen Kent and Jewel Littleton, and a brother, Corben Bryant.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
