A woman of unwavering faith and a devoted follower of Christ, Joyce was a long-time and faithful member of Paradise Church. Her heart for service was evident in everything she did—from helping prepare countless delicious meals for church gatherings to sharing her love for baking through the Cookie and Card Ministry. Her sweet treats and warm spirit brought joy and comfort to many.
Joyce was a creative soul who had a passion for all things yarn. Whether crocheting, knitting, or crafting, she had a remarkable talent for creating beauty with her hands—often simply by seeing something once and recreating it from memory. She had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life: a good cup of coffee, a fun board game, or getting lost in the pages of a good book—especially the magical world of Harry Potter.
Joyce’s life was a testimony of love, kindness, and creativity, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and church family.
Joyce leaves behind her husband whom she married on February 2, 1980, Lester Queer; her children, Sherry (Tracy) Erwin, John Michael (Amanda) Dowdy, Rebecca (Larry) Schoonover, Elizabeth Holmes, Roger Murrell, Nathan Murrell, and Samuel Queer; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Pierson and John David Lewis; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of church family.
