Judith Mingus

Judith Eileen Mingus, 67, of Ashland, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at her residence. Born December 9, 1943 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Eugene E. Mingus, Sr. and Dorothy Francis Combs Mingus. She had worked for Hedstrom for 20 years in the data processing department and was a member of Ashland Christian Church. After the death of her mother, Judith became "mother" for her family and was a "dotting aunt" to her nieces and nephews as her family was a very important part of her life. She was an avid reader.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Eugene E. Connie Mingus, Jr. of Windsor, OH, Robert H. Wilma Mingus of Portsmouth, OH, Jerry A. Mingus, Sr. of Columbus, OH, Susan V. Gary Drushel of Ashland, Paul D. Mary Mingus of Bedford Heights, OH, Joyce A. Carpenter of Ashland, Cheryl Mingus of Ashland, Keith M. Jennifer Mingus of Brownsburg, IN and Nagenena M. Elvin Zapata of Arlington, TX; her step mother, Nancy M. Bauer Mingus of Brownsburg, IN; and her cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Benny L. Mingus in June 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland conducted by Pastor Michael E. Will. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
