June Oberlin

June E. Oberlin, 93, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 16, 2011 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She was born November 26, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Juanita Wagner and Charles W. Betz. An area homemaker, she was a member of First Christian Church. June enjoyed entertaining friends and family, gardening, fishing, flower arranging and crafts.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan George Hauer of Lexington; foster daughter, Sandra Pierce of Mansfield; grandchildren, Michael Cindy Maxwell of Mansfield, Matthew Misty Maxwell of Cincinnati and Susan Ramirez of Mansfield; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Lenore William Doolittle of Venice, FL; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. H. Robert Oberlin; sister and brother-in-law, Doris Richard Armstrong; brother, Charles Betz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leola Bruce Rogers; and in-laws, Hoyt and Hallie Oberlin.

A memorial service will be Monday, February 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield with Pastor Chris Whitehead officiating. Friends and family may visit from 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions are made to First Christian Church, 200 W. Third St., Mansfield, OH 44902.
