
June M. Trease, 83, of Mansfield, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Hospice House in Ashland. Born July 22, 1925 in Ashland, OH, she was the daughter of Earl and Ruth Raubenolt Leininger. After retiring from Therm-O-Disc, she worked at Wendy's where she was affectionately known as "Miss June". She and her husband, Al, were Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at the Richland Mall and also brought Christmas to nursing homes and elementary schools in the county. She was a very colorful and adventurous woman who enjoyed crocheting, plastic cross stitch, bowling, riding roller coaster and traveling to Texas to see her family there. She also loved attending her grandchildrens' sporting events.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Joyce Trease of Southside, AL and Edward Marilyn Trease of Lexington, OH; a daughter, Victoria Hurley Marcum of Pasadena, TX; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Trease of Humble, TX; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, David Leininger of Mansfield; a brother-in-law, Ray Ellison of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ken and Helen Lucas and family, of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley "Al" Trease, her son, Richard Trease, her parents; a sister, Reta Ellison; and a great-granddaughter, Serenity Drozda.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield, OH 44906. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2008 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Cloyd Kress. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, McZena, OH.
