Karen K. Arata, 40, of Bellville, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at home. Karen went home to be with the Lord, whom she loved with all her heart. She was born March 8, 1968 in Columbus. Karen loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting, and golfing. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, P. Steven Arata; son, Carl Gallant of Mansfield; brother, Ronald Angie Windland Pollard of New Lexington; sister, Tonya Scott East of Thornville; numerous aunts, uncles, including David and Clara Pollard, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dwight and Lois Pollard; and maternal grandparents, Burris and Nellie Gruby.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Robert Bond. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
