
Karen S. Reedy, 56, of Mansfield, left her earthly body and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on October 26, 2008, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on May 13, 1952, to Ethel F. Rachel Reedy and Marvin Reedy in Mansfield. Karen was always a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Karen loved family gatherings, cookouts, gambling and camping. Her Thanksgiving dinners were the most enjoyable because not just family showed up, but all adopted family as well. Karen was a member of V.F.W. Post #3494, Moose Lodge #341, and the Sons of Herman. She enjoyed antiques, garage sales and playing cards.
Surviving are her children, William G. King, Jr. Jamie Daugherty, Lisa Ryan Bradshaw, Teresa Pike Olson and Joseph Sarah King; husband, Al Heimburger; grandchildren, Danielle Olson, Cody Bradshaw, Logan Bradshaw, Amanda Bradshaw, Jordan King, Shelby Olson, Jessa King, Joey King, P.J. Olson, Rylee Bradshaw and Derek Ray Yates; two brothers, James Charlsie Reedy of Little Rock, AR and Larry Mary Ann Reedy of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Janet Apger and L. Faye Reedy, both of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Charlie Steward. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mike and Kenny Reedy; a very special sister, Phyllis Jung; and a very special nephew, Damien Jung.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Chaplain Chuck Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
