Katherine Schmidt

Katherine Brauchler Schmidt, 93, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She had lived at the Apostolic Christian Retirement Center prior to moving to Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born June 14, 1914 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Weiss Brauchler. Katherine was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church on Middle Bellville since 1965. In her early years, she had worked at Westinghouse.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Copeland of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Connie Noble and Cathy Rodney Partin; seven great-grandchildren, Weston, Ashley, and Angie Dick, Ryan and Adam Schmidt, Megan and Maren Partin; three brothers, Louis Brauchler, Robert June Brauchler, and Charles Marjorie Brauchler, all of Mansfield; sister, Margaret Kirk of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Schmidt of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Schmidt; son, Robert F. Schmidt; grandson, Michael R. Schmidt; brothers, Peter and John Brauchler; and sisters, Elizabeth Procker, Anna Baer, and Julia Brauchler.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1332 Middle-Bellville Rd., Mansfield, conducted by Marc Contrascere. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
