
Kay L. Chase, 75, of Mansfield, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at her home. She was surrounded by her family and Buddy, her Golden Retriever. Born November 8, 1931 in Toledo, she was the daughter of Dean L. and Helen Ridiker Oatman. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Richland County Woman's Golf Association and worked at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Lexington. Mrs. Chase was also a member of Questers Antique Club, Bridge Club, and Lex Lanes Women's Bowling League. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her faithful companion, Buddy; one daughter, Deborah Chase of Mansfield; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Waynette Chase of Lexington; grandsons, Daniel and Luke Wittmer, and Christopher Chase; sister, Jo Meurer of Akron; brothers and sister-in-law, Tom and Joyce Oatman of Cincinnati, and Mark Oatman of Atlanta, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Steve Hudson of Bedford, New Hampshire; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chase; parents; sister-in-law, Barb Oatman; and brother-in-law, Carl Meurer.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Grace Episcopal Church conducted by The Rev. Joe L. Ashby. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, or the Humane Society. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
