

Kenneth R. 'Bob' Bennett, 57, of 1010 St. Rt. 314 S died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Manchester, New Hampshire after a brief illness. Mr. Bennett was born March 8, 1945 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all of his life. He was employed with PPG, Crestline, since 1964, most recently in the warehouse. Some of his responsibilities included editing the plant monthly newsletter and organizing and creating a plant photo calendar. Mr. Bennett served on the Ontario School Board from 1998 and was currently president. He volunteered as Cub Scout Pack and Webelos leader and Girl Scout troop cookie chair. He coached baseball and softball teams and was an Odyssey of the Mind coach. He was an active member of Ontario Athletic Booster Club for ten years, serving four years as president, Patron of OPAA, Music Club and Yearbook. He enjoyed gardening, photography and crossword puzzles. He was proud of Ontario Schools and realized that ALL employees contribute an important role to students' success in school. It was his privilege to be a part of Ontario Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jezierski Bennett; a daughter, Mandy Bennett of Ontario; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rob Bennett of New York and Jim & Jenny Bennett of Galion; a grandson, Jimi Bennett of Galion; a brother, John Bennett of Ontario; a sister, Connie Robertson of Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leo & Connie Jezierski of New Hampshire, Loretta Krebs & Tim Holmes of Maryland, Louise Jezierski & Barry Goetz of Michigan, Katherine & John Galasso and Kenny & Janet Stroble, all of Massachusetts, and Larraine Boggs of Ontario; father and mother-in-law, Leo & Adele Jezierski of Massachusetts; an aunt, Helen Pavlock of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Matt & Linda Jezierski, Andrew Jezierski, Leighanne & Patrick Cullen, Taylor Holmes, Mario & Callum Goetz, Benny & Laurie Robertson and Shelley Robertson; and special friends, Elaine, Candice and Elizabeth Shoemaker, Josh Tice, Monty & Diana Perry and George & Andrea Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Evelyn Potts Bennett; mother-in-law, Martha Jezierski; and special friend, Bo Shoemaker.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. James Winkler. Burial will follow in the Ontario Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined later.
