

Larry C. Shutt, 74, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday evening, January 8, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born March 28, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Olen Shutt and Leeta Walters Shutt.
Larry worked at various auto body repair shops in Mansfield before owning and operating Shutt's Body Shop from 1975-1980. Following this, he was offered a position as senior auto body teacher at Madison Comprehensive High School where he taught until retiring in 2002.
Through the years, Larry, along with his sons, was involved with many remodeling and building projects. Most recently, Larry helped his son, Bob, build a 1901 curved dash replica Oldsmobile which they enjoyed taking to car shows. Larry was a loving husband and very proud of his sons and grandsons. He had a unique sense of humor and was very quick witted.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kalbfleisch Shutt; four sons, Robert "Bob" (Christa) Shutt, John (Debbie) Shutt, David "Dave" (Joan) Shutt and Matthew "Matt" Shutt; two grandsons, Joshua and Zachariah; a twin brother, Barry (Nancy) Shutt; a sister, Diana (Loyal) Young; a sister-in-law, Marlene Groff; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Sharon and Gayle Seaman; and a brother-in-law, Richard Groff.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A private family service will be held at Mansfield Cemetery.
