
Leland Milton Orewiler, 83, of Bucyrus went home to the Lord, Saturday, June 19, 2010 after a brief illness. Born September 2, 1926 in Bucyrus, he was the son of the late Harvey Emmanuel and Charlotte Marie Orewiler, both of whom preceded him in death in 1988. A lifelong resident of Bucyrus, he was a graduate of Bucyrus High School and was a sports writer for the Telegraph Forum during his high school years. Lee was a veteran of WWII serving as a Training Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was employed for 45 years as Safety and Security Director of the Timken Company in Bucyrus. Lee was a lifelong member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Bucyrus. On January 16, 1947, he married Martha Elaine Brown. He enjoyed vacationing, camping, and fishing with his family. An avid golfer his entire life, Lee participated for many years on the Timken Golf League. He also played softball and basketball in the military and on the church leagues. Lee was a member of the NRA, American Legion Post #181, Woodlawn United Methodist Church, and the Crawford County Sheriff's Association. He enjoyed western square dancing and was a member of the Buckaroo Western Square Dancing Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Cathy Lee Orewiler and her husband, Ron Brown, Teresa Elaine Orewiler McWaters; a brother, Darl Orewiler of Cincinnati; a sister, Janis Orewiler Rush; two grandsons, Mark Edward Jen Brown of Dublin and Thomas Ryan Nicole Brown of Bucyrus; three granddaughters, Kimberly Anne Brown Agee, Rachel Elaine Strohm, both of Bucyrus and Erin Lynn Strohm of Toledo; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Lydia and Claudia Brown of Dublin, Caydence, Jack and Ella Noelle Agee of Bucyrus; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine; two brothers, Donald Robert Orewiler, Sr. and Richard Orewiler; and one sister, Arleta Joyce Orewiler Hedges.
Memorial services conducted by Pastor Jim Ellis will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 1275 Hopley Avenue, Bucyrus. Friends may visit from 10-11 a.m. at the church. A committal service with military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
