

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the youngest of four children, Blanche was born to Perry Lee and Della (Walke) Tungate. She married Jack W. Long, of Lebanon, Ohio, on January 10, 1942.
She attended Mt. Vernon Academy in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
Blanche was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She raised her family in Hamilton, Ohio. She, then, moved to California following the death of her beloved husband. She was employed at the Loma Linda University Health Study Division assisting with data entry for a number of years before returning to Ohio. Blanche was a great shopper, fun loving, and made friends easily. She could often be found at WalMart, Value City or Kroger in Mansfield chatting with friends.
Blanche loved the Lord, knew the Bible well, and was a faithful, lifetime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother, and the husband she adored, Jack W. Long. She never remarried.
Blanche is survived by three children, Jackie (Walter) Carson of Woodbine, Maryland, Dr. Jeffrey (Carolyn) Long of Mansfield and Judy (Robert) Arth of Carmichael, California; seven grandchildren, Susan Carson, Walter Carson, Kevin Long, Kari Gerstenberger, Sarah Hastings, Samantha Arth and Tim Niswander; and nine great grandchildren.
The family looks forward to the soon return of Jesus Christ when Blanche's eyes will be opened once again, to see Jesus and the family united in the earth made new.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 2, 2016 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1040 W. Cook Road, Mansfield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for the excellent, loving care provided, memorial gifts may be left in her name at the Church or sent to the Arbors at Mifflin, 1600 Crider Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44903. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
