Leroy Bowman

Leroy M. Bowman, 72, of Bellville, died Thursday evening, March 23, 2006. He died at Samaritan Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born August 21, 1933, in Wooster, he was the son of Roy Bowman and Hazel Borman Bowman Bletz. He retired from Clearfork Marina and had also worked at Wade & Gatton Nursery and retired after 42 years as a truck driver. He was a member of F.O.E. Arie #336 and the Moose Lodge of Mansfield.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean Bush Bowman; three daughters, Peggy Fliger, Vicki Akers and Patti Oswalt; three sons, Garry Deb Bowman, Max 'J.R.' Bowman and Jason Bowman; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richie Joann Bowman and Charles Bletz; a special nephew, Larry Oswalt; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Chante'. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Danny Bowman and son-in-law, Ronald Fliger.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, March 26 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Copley officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
