
Leroy Stevens, 67, of Mansfield, died Monday morning, July 25, 2005 at MedCentral/Mansfield hospital after an extended illness. Born March 7, 1938 in Morehead, Kentucky, he was the son of Bethel and Ollie F. Earls Stevens. He was a member of the Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Stevens retired from AK Steel after 35 ½ years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Lambert Stevens of Mansfield; three daughters and son-in-law, Leisha Pelfrey, Bonnie and Raymond Walters, all of Mansfield, and Judy Bradley of Greenwich; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Tammy Stevens, and Roy and Anita Stevens, all of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren, Bryan, Cassie, Garrett Pelfrey, Rachel, Kati Jo, and Ginny Rose, all of Mansfield; Samantha and Blake Bradley of Greenwich; Justin Stevens of Columbus; Jona, Jeremy, Holly, and Matthew Stevens, all of Mansfield; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Joyce Stevens of Mansfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Guy Glover, Pauline Carroll, and Cloteen Barker, all of Mansfield; close friend and neighbor, Jimmy Miller of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Billy, Alvin, and Paul Stevens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Brother Joe Walters and Rev. Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Olivesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
