Leroy Gene Sutton, 66, of Mansfield peacefully passed away on September 25, 2025, at Oak Grove Manor in Mansfield, Ohio. Born in Mansfield on September 23, 1959, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearline (Rankins) Sutton, Sr.
A very kind man who was helpful, loving, and caring, he enjoyed his family and every moment he spent with them. He enjoyed his dogs. Loved football, Gospel music, gameshows and watching church on YouTube. A very lovable person, he liked pop and snacks. He also enjoyed dancing and singing.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Shirley (Blanton) Sutton; step-children, Dorothy (Doug) Oyster and Winiferd (Thomas) Goad; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Sutton; brother, Larry Sutton; sister, Earlene Smith; brother, Frank Sutton, Jr.; brother, James (Dianna) Sutton; sister, Tassie Roberts; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his sister, Laurene Carter.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. The service will immediately follow.
