

Lorna J. Wertenberger, 87, of Ontario, died Monday evening, January 5, 2015, at her home. She is happy to be strolling hand in hand again with her husband, John R. Wertenberger, who preceded her in death. She was born July 18, 1927, in Buffalo, Ohio, to the late Earl and Ellen Larrick.
Lorna retired from Lazarus in the Richland Mall, where she worked the Estee Lauder cosmetic counter. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #17 and GM Retirees Club. Her favorite activities were playing Bingo, shopping, dining out, and going to hear various singing groups in the area. Her most special times were spent in the company of her family.
She is survived by three children, Larry (Diana) Wertenberger of West Jefferson, OH, Dan (Sharon) Wertenberger and Tami (Michael) Hunt, both of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Drew (Andi) Wertenberger of Delphos, Lori Wertenberger of Akron, Bob Roberts of Marysville and Shawna (Chris) Lay of Shelby; three step grandchildren, Brian (Tammy) Armstrong, Bill (Liz) Armstrong, Chris (Erica) Armstrong; seven great-grandchildren, Zane and Briley Wertenberger, Christopher Wertenberger, Jareth (Sarah) Roberts, Logan Roberts, and Alex and Aubrey Lay; two great-great grandchildren, Faith and Jackson Roberts; and special friends, Betty Surber and Truly Moore, both of Mansfield. She is preceded in death by a step grandson, Michael Armstrong; brothers, William and Donald Larrick; and sister, Karen Blattner.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery.
