

Lynda D. Lewis, 69, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly following a sudden illness on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born November 27, 1946 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of William Charles and Hazel Eunetta (McCreary) Lewis.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church and was a nurse's aide serving in the home health care field. She was a member of the VFW #9943 Ladies Auxiliary for almost 50 years, the AMVETS Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered in various capacities and made quilts. She attended the Senior Center and loved playing Bingo. She was the most giving person who made her family feel very special and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a son, Jeff (Kim) Lewis; a daughter, Shelly Lewis and her husband, Tom Turpin; six grandchildren, Aaron Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Kelly Okland, James Jones, Marc Jones and Amanda Turpin; eight great grandchildren, Konner, Anthony, Kelsea, Kailyn and Evan Lewis, Madilyn and Khloe Okland and Tyler Jones; a brother, Steven Lewis; a sister, Susan Sigler; and a cousin, Phyllis Overly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the funeral home conducted by Father Gregory Hite. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
