Mabel Gonzales

Mable D. Fox Gonzales, 79, of Mansfield died Friday evening, June 28, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Mrs. Gonzales was born April 27, 1923 in Fremont, Virginia living in the Mansfield area all of her life. She loved antiquing, collecting dolls, flower gardening, decorating, traveling, and most of all, shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Gonzales, whom she married June 17, 1941; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe & Wanda Gonzales and Frank & Linda Gonzales; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Dennis Kirkendall and Rita & Eric Etzwiler; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morris and Ray Fox; a sister, Deana Foley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Blanche Beam Fox; two sisters, Eleanor Stump and Dolores Phelps; seven brothers, Richard, Joseph, Frank, Paul, Russel, Claude and Slim Fox; and a grandson, Anthony Gonzales.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Al Salas. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
